More than a project promoting a dialogue between different Portuguese materials, Broot is a tribute to the finesse and richness of what emerges from the earth. A praise to the stone as main fertile material and one of the natural elements that better portraits human evolution, converted into a dialogue with various other materials.
This has been a journey driven by the impelling force of time, crossing thousands of years right up to the present day – the moment we set out to explore a place in a rough, where the stone is transformed to gain a new life through art. Thus begins the story of Broot.
Aiming to enhance traditional materials and their origins, we establish synergies between different areas that share the strong heritage of natural stone and the will to project national industry, from Portugal to the World.
In its purest form, Broot is an ode to the natural raw materials that emerge from the earth to become artworks, by the force and talent of hands that strive to shape the world.
Promoted and coordinated by ASSIMAGRA, with RRP financing in the context of the Sustainable Stone by Portugal Green Agenda and curation by OLIVAH, the Broot project was devised to encourage dialogue. Between materials from diverse sources and represented by different sectors of the Portuguese industry. Between people that trust the wisdom of nature and value the sharing of experiences, allying innovation with creativity and culture.
