- Studio Eneida Lombe Tavares
Abundant rock in the autonomous regions islands, namely in the Azores, basalt presents a uniform appearance and color, being particularly hard. Composed of fine grains, it has the capacity to preserve heat.
Its use is based in the technique of peeling, soaking and drying of the willow twigs, so that the material becomes flexible and resistant. From clothing to furniture, the application is extensive nowadays.
